Q: What are the Differences between the Installed Client and Web Client?
A: This FAQ discusses the differences between Web Client and Installed Client keyboard functionality
Characteristics of the Installed Client
Native IME Compatibility
The installed client is compatible with native operating system IMEs. Users can find instructions on how to set up their native IME compatibility through the link provided under More Information at the end of this document.
Virtual Keyboard Functionality
Full virtual keyboard functionality is available in the installed client. You may use the virtual to switch physical keyboard input (i.e. re-mapping the keyboard) and use the on-screen keyboard to type in different languages.
Languages such as Mandarin and Korean are not offered through the virtual on-screen keyboard settings. If you see a language that is not there and would like to see it supported, please email [email protected].
Physical Foreign Keyboard Compatibility
Physical foreign keyboards are fully supported. If you are having issues with a specific physical foreign keyboard please email [email protected].
Native IME Compatibility
The web client is compatible with native operating systems IMEs. The Web Client uses an IME widget pop up that displays on the top right corner of the window.
- To open widget within the Web Client: Ctrl + Shift + H
- To toggle Keyboard User: Ctrl + Shift + Comma
- To toggle Keyboard Visibility: Ctrl + Shift + Period

Physical Foreign Keyboard Compatibility
We recommend changing the virtual keyboard settings to match the physical keyboard used. Please refer to the screenshot below for an example of how to change the virtual keyboard settings. Making a language change here will remap a user's keyboard settings.
