Introduction

Silo Administrators have the option to disable Downloads via the File Upload/Download policy in the Admin Console. When end users are prohibited from performing any Download tasks, they also lose the ability to Save PDF files. This article explains the alternative method for Saving/Creating PDF files when Downloads are disabled.

Please note that Print permissions are needed in order for this method to work, as the Print function will convert the web page into a PDF file format.

Windows

From the Silo Menu, click the Print button. The web page opens with the Print menu across the top. Click the Print button to save the web page into a PDF format.

When the Print window appears, select Microsoft Print to PDF from the Printer options, then click Print.

The Save Print Output As window will then appear. Enter a filename to Save the file.

Once you save the file, click the Close button on the top right corner of the Print menu.

macOS

From the Silo Menu, click the Print button. The web page opens with the Print menu across the top of the page.

Click the Print button.

The Print window appears.

At the lower left corner of the window, click the PDF drop-down menu, then select Save as PDF or Save as Adobe PDF from the Menu.

The following window appears,

Name the file as desired and click the Save button. This saves the web page in PDF format. The window will close and bring you back to the Print window. Click the Close button to complete the process.
