Introduction

Silo Administrators have the option to disable downloads via the File Upload/Download policy in the Admin Console. When end users are prohibited from performing any download tasks, they also lose the ability to Save PDF files. This article explains an alternative method for saving or creating PDF files when downloads are disabled via Policy.

Important: Print permissions will need to be enabled in order for this method to work, as the Print functionality is used to convert the web content into a PDF file format.

Windows
Click Print from the vertical ellipses menu

The web page opens with the Print dialog options to the right. Click Save to save the web page in PDF format

The Save Print Output As window will then appear; enter a filename then click Save

macOS

Click Print from the vertical ellipses menu to activate the Print options across the top of the page

Click Print again

At the lower left corner of the Print dialog window, click the PDF drop-down menu, then select Save as PDF or Save as Adobe PDF

Enter a filename in the Save File dialog, then click Save. The window will then close and bring you back to the previous Print options.

Click Close when finished.
