Introduction

This policy will add the ability for organization admins to configure an HTML message to be displayed at the beginning of their organization's Silo sessions. This message will block access to other Silo features until the user has acknowledged it

There are two types of login banners that an organization’s admin can create:

  • Mandatory-Acceptance Banners - a banner must be explicitly accepted and the user will not get further access to the browser if they do not accept the terms

  • General Banners - an informational banner that organizations may use for whatever purpose they see fit. End users will not need to acknowledge acceptance

Prerequisite

Administrators must have permission to edit organization’s policies.

NoteAdministrators can create only one (1) banner for any organization.

Steps

  1. From the Admin Console, go to the Policies section, Customization, click the Login Message Edit button

  1. The policy page opens and the default is “Login Message disabled”.  To enable, click the radio button “Login Message enabled”. If you do not want sub-organizations to override this policy, uncheck the box by “Allow sub-organization policy override”.

By enabling the Login Message, additional selections appear such as, the Login Message editor, a choice to require users to agree to the message or not, and whether to display only one time or always.

NOTE: Message length maximum is 10,000 characters.

  1. When you are finished with your message and selections, click the Save button. A “Success Policy Update” pop-up appears to verify that you saved your message.

Upon the next login, this is the message you will see.
