Error Message
Introduction
The wfreerdp.exe process is responsible for managing Silo’s display content, which is established by a8cli.exe over a secure tunnel. Graphics-related software or hardware issues on the local machine may cause a runtime error with wfreerdp.exe. Additionally, certain network conditions can also trigger this error.
Solution
We recommend restarting the Silo application for a quick resolution. If the error persists, please contact Support for further assistance.
If you are using a virtual machine (VM), firewall restrictions in both the local and VM environments may block the wfreerdp.exe process. To prevent such conflicts, add Silo a8cli.exe and wfreerdp.exe as trusted programs in your security software.
- You can create an exclusion for Windows Security (Microsoft Defender) by following Microsoft’s official steps.
- If using third-party antivirus or firewall solutions, consult their documentation to whitelist or exclude a8cli.exe and wfreerdp.exe.
Ensuring these processes are added to your security program’s list of exceptions helps maintain the stable operation of Silo within VM or local environments.
