Silo is an on-demand, remote, disposable virtual browser which executes browser code without taxing or exposing local resources. By default, Silo uses Adblock Plus to limit access to ads when browsing web pages. This is done both for security and for readability reasons. With the addition of the Ad Blocking Controls feature, it is now possible to disable some or all ad blocking. It is also possible to enable users to control their own ad blocking preferences.
To access the Ad Blocking Controls configuration page, navigate to Browser Settings --> Ad Blocking
The subsequent screen gives you choices:
- Ad blocking disabled - disables all ad blocking
- Ad Blocking enabled - allows ad blocking. You may opt to add comma delimited global exceptions in the box.
Note: If this is enabled, you can choose to allow users to manage their own ad block preferences
