The following entries are added by the installer package (the a8, a8j, and a8s protocol classes will also be uninstalled; the IE parts will not be uninstalled):

Normally, the above screen "Software Update" shows up at the second execution of the Windows Client.

  • The button "Check automatically" sets its value to "1".
  • The button "Don't check" sets its value to "0".

If this registry entry is not defined or its value is older than one day, the Windows Client checks out if a new version is available and sets the checking time into this registry entry.

When a new version is available, the following screen "Software Update" is shown:
